Avery August, Co-PI – Dr. Avery August is Deputy Provost and HHMI Professor of Immunology in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). As Deputy Provost, he oversees the Provost’s Office of Faculty Development and Diversity. August spent 7 years as Chair of the Department of Microbiology & Immunology in the CVM. He is a NIH funded immunologist, the PI of NIGMS funded Cornell IMSD, and Co-PI of NIBIB funded Immunoengineering T32, and Chair of the Steering Committee, ABRCMS. Along with Provost Kotlikoff, August will oversee all aspects of the proposed activities. August will also chair the FIRST Institutional Steering Committee. Kotlikoff and August will direct the Administrative Core.
